Chalamthang Homestay
Chalamthang litelally means “Orange Farm” in Lepcha language. Located just 42 kms from Gangtok and 98 kms from Siliguri, this small village of ours is a true traveller’s paradise. If you enjoy birdwatching, village walks, local culture and cusine then come to Chalamthang and discover the soul of Sikkim.

Chalamthang untouched by tourist rush, here you can pick up vegetables from the garden and give it to our kitchen for fresh salads or you can visit Kaleej Khola – the local rivulet gurgling through the rocky slopes to get a dip or do some fishing. You can go trekking to nearby caves and hilltops or enjoy cultural programs and barbeques in the evening.
Our homestay in Chalamthang is located on the edge of a hilltop with a panoramic view of the Himalayan foothill, the meandering Teesta River and the snowy peaks of Nathula and beyond. We have made a Machaan (watch tower) for our guests from where they can enjoy these mesmerizing views.

FOOD charges?
- Veg Lunch thali: Rs.250 per head.
- Veg Dinner thali: Rs.200 per head.
- Veg Breakfast (local food): Rs.200 per head.
All food served at our homestay are veg. Above 5 years full food cost.
CANCELLATION rules?
- Cancellation request received 7 days prior to arrival, 10% deduction.
- Cancellation request received 3-7 days prior to arrival, 25% deduction.
- Cancellation received 1-3 days prior to arrival, 50% deduction.
- Cancellation received 24 hours prior to arrival, NO REFUND will be allowed.
- During the stay or on arrival, if part cancellations are requested, NO REFUND will be allowed.
HOUSE RULES ?
- Accommodation is only available on pre-booking.
- All food served at our homestay are veg. Non-veg food (if required) can be arranged in nearby establishment.
- Porters are available for carrying luggage, however, you have to climb steps to reach the machan area & homestay.
- You must carry photo identification proof (Adhaar Card/ Voter id) and a photocopy of the identification proof with you while checking in. Otherwise, rooms will not be allotted to you on arrival.

Our village is located very near to some of the best attractions of South Sikkim like Tarey Bhir, Ravangla, Chaardham in Solophok, Samdruptse Monastery, Temi Tea Garden, Tendong Bio Diversity Park.

While staying at Chalamthang, you can enjoy a whole lot of activities starting from angling, vegetable picking to trekking and forest picnics.
